Urban Strategy
Strategy on Urban TDM
Urban is regarded as the most common map used for clan wars. As a result, it is important to know the strengths and weaknesses of each team. In this guide, you will learn the optimal positions to take when facing the opponent. However, before revealing them, I will discuss more about the map.
Alot of people argue that Urban is sided towards Team 1. However, this is largely due to the fact that they do not know how to effectively counter the spawn trappers behind the van. If you are being spawn trapped on Team 2, don't rush out into the open. Doing so, will render you an easier target. Instead, use red grenades to try and kill the spawn camper. There are specific grenade points in which you will be able to inflict one hit kills. These grenade points are discussed further in my grenade guide. If the grenade fails, your next best bet is to carefully use a sniper to pick the camper off. Team 2 has an advantage backdoor. However, in order to fully utilize the benefits of Team 2, "backs" will have to be allowed. The only real issue regarding backdoor is the camper that usually resides behind the slope. However, that camper can be easily killed with a red grenade without having yourself be revealed. Just make sure that there are no spawn trappers behind the blue van.
If "backs" is not allowed, then the game is pretty much like trench warfare. Each team is usually trying to push their way through to the spawn trapping points; behind van for team 1 and behind hotel for team 2. Whoever takes control of these points have the advantage. Each team is prone to being spawn trapped and each has its benefits. As already mentioned for Team 1, spawn trappers have the van as well as several other objects capable of offering cover. Team 2 spawn trappers have the hotel building. However, if your opponent knows the grenade points to counter this position, it won't be as effective. As a consequence, always be aware that if your enemy isn't trying to kill you from the front, they may be trying to flank you from the side with a red grenade. This is another reason why you should take notice about what weapons your opponents are using. You can eliminate any risk factors by doing so. Since there is only 1 path towards Team 1, enemies on Team 1 are highly vulnerable to grenades if they are being spawn trapped.
